Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is one of the vital lay ministries of St Thomas. It provides one to one Christ centered support to those who are experiencing life changes or challenges. Having a Stephen Minister gives a person a safe, completely confidential space to talk, pray and begin to regain equilibrium.
This is a Listening Ministry. Stephen Ministers do not offer therapy. They do not attempt to solve problems. They are trained to listen, offer spiritual and emotional support, and walk with the care receiver on his or her journey of discovery and reconciliation.
We work within the Greater Cincinnati Network of multi-denominational Stephen Ministries which means we have access to other churches for training and assignment of Stephen Ministers when the need arises.
This ministry requires time and commitment for training, weekly meetings with care receivers and monthly meetings with Stephen Leaders. In return, one receives a multitude of spiritual gifts.
If you want more information about becoming a Stephen Minister or about having a Stephen Minister please contact Father Darren, Joan Hoskins-Nogg (513-600-2405) or Bea Filimonov (513-377-8915).
Prayer Team
The prayer ministry offers prayer and anointing with blessed oil during communion at our Sunday worship services. We pray with you for thanksgiving, healing, guidance, comfort, general health, strength, and any other need of which you may be needing for others and yourself.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring the Sacrament from the altar to those who are unable to attend regular services for an extended period, ensuring they remain connected to the St. Thomas community. Typically, visitors depart directly from the altar before the final prayer at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service, though visits can also be arranged after any regular Eucharist. Requests for a visit may be made by the individual needing one or by a family member, coordinated through the church office. Through these visits, shut-ins participate in the life of St. Thomas, sharing in worship and fellowship.
